Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be the chief guest at the Pakistan Day parade on March 23, Pakistan Army’s spokesman said.
According to a tweet by Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Wednesday, Pakistan Day Parade will be held on 23rd March according to schedule and Malaysian PM Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad will be the Guest of Honour.
The DG ISPR added that the guests include Defence Minister Azerbaijan, COAS Bahrain and govt officials from Oman.
He said that various contingents from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, China, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Turkey will participate in parade.
The slogan of the parade will be "Pakistan Zindabad", Major General Ghafoor said.
"Contingents of troops of Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia will participate in the parade while paratroopers from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka will take part in free-fall jumps", the head of the military's media wing said.
He said that Turkey's F-16 and China's J-10 jets will put up an aerial display.
This is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan, during his visit to Malaysia in November 2018, had invited Dr Mahathir to visit Pakistan as chief guest on Pakistan Day on March 23.
The Malaysian prime minister had accepted the invitation.
