Mexico City (Web Desk): A 5.22 magnitude earthquake struck Mexico, causing panic among residents in affected areas, who rushed out of homes and buildings for safety.
According to news agencies, tremors were felt across several regions; however, there have been no immediate reports of major casualties or property damage. Local authorities have begun assessing the situation and continue monitoring the affected areas.
The German Research Centre for Geosciences reported that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.22 and occurred at a depth of around 10 kilometres beneath the earth’s surface.
Experts say that shallow earthquakes are often felt more strongly on the surface, which is why the impact was more noticeable in this case.
Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious, follow safety instructions issued by local administration, and stay alert for possible aftershocks as monitoring continues.
