Washington (Web Desk): The details of US President Donald Trump’s major Middle East peace initiative, the “Board of Peace,” have been revealed.
The board’s first official meeting will be held on February 19 in Washington, D.C., where historic announcements related to Gaza’s reconstruction and security are expected.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally confirmed his participation in the peace board.
According to international news agencies, delegations from at least 20 countries will attend the meeting.
During the session, the establishment of a multi-billion-dollar fund to rebuild Gaza will be announced.
US officials stated that several countries have voluntarily offered financial contributions to support the revival of life in the war-torn region.
A key component of the plan is the deployment of an international stabilization force in Gaza, which will receive endorsement from the UN Security Council. Several countries have agreed to provide thousands of troops.
The force’s main objectives will be to maintain post-war security in Gaza and ensure administrative stability.
The proposed plan also emphasizes the disarmament of Hamas, while offering general amnesty to members willing to lay down arms and commit to peaceful coexistence.
Provisions are included to allow safe exit routes for those wishing to leave Gaza, though Hamas has tied these conditions to the end of Israeli occupation.
The meeting will also include a briefing on the progress of a national committee established to manage Gaza’s day-to-day administration, including humanitarian aid distribution, police restoration, and routine governance.
This initiative is considered a major diplomatic achievement for the Trump administration in the Middle East. However, significant challenges remain regarding its implementation due to ongoing disagreements between Hamas and Israel.
