California (Web Desk): Meta's social media platform Threads has achieved remarkable growth within just two years of its launch, surpassing 400 million active monthly users. This announcement was made by Instagram head Adam Mosseri in a recent post.

He revealed that a few weeks ago, Threads crossed the milestone of 400 million monthly users, reflecting its rapid growth. However, he also mentioned that there is still significant work to be done to improve the platform further.

It is noteworthy that at the end of April 2025, Meta's CEO had reported that Threads had 350 million users, meaning an increase of 50 million users in just three months.

On the other hand, X (formerly Twitter) still has around 600 million monthly users, but current trends suggest that Threads may soon surpass X.

According to recent data from the research firm Similarweb, in June 2025, Threads was used daily by 115.1 million people on mobile apps, while X had 132 million daily mobile users — indicating the gap is narrowing quickly.

However, in terms of web usage, Threads still has a considerable distance to cover. In June, X had an average daily web user count exceeding 140 million, whereas Threads' daily web users were only 6.9 million.

These figures suggest that if the current growth rate continues, Threads could soon become a real alternative to X among mobile users, though it needs to take further steps to boost its popularity on the web.
