Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday left for a 10-day visit to China on the invitation of Chinese Government.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office (FO) on Thursday, during his visit, the president will tour Chengdu, Shanghai, and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, where meetings with senior provincial authorities are on his schedule.
The agenda of the visit focuses on enhancing Pakistan-China relations, particularly in trade and economic cooperation, reviewing progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and exploring new connectivity projects. Both countries will also engage in talks aimed at broadening cooperation in various multilateral platforms.
The FO statement added that the visit reflects the continuation of high-level exchanges between Islamabad and Beijing, reaffirming their enduring All-weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
It also underscores mutual support on critical national matters, a shared resolve to strengthen economic links including CPEC, and a collective pledge to advance peace, stability, and development in the region.
