Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan on Wednesday reaffirmed its commitment to participating fully and in good faith in the Neutral Expert proceedings, with the next phase set to be held in Vienna from November 17 to 21, 2025.
In a statement, Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that the proceedings had been initiated at India’s request.
“While India has chosen to suspend its involvement, Pakistan remains fully engaged in the Neutral Expert proceedings in good faith,” he said. He added that the Neutral Expert had confirmed that India’s decision to withdraw would not impede the continuation of the process.
The spokesperson further noted that in the framework of the arbitration launched by Pakistan against India under the Indus Waters Treaty, Islamabad has taken note of the recent Decision of the Court of Arbitration, which offered clarifications on certain aspects of the Court’s “Award on Issues of General Interpretation of the Indus Waters Treaty,” issued on August 8, 2025.
"Pakistan has also taken note of the Procedural Order issued alongside the decision, which confirmed that the Court would continue the proceedings in a phased manner while considering the developments before the Neutral Expert as outlined under Article IX and Annexure F of the IWT, the FO spokesperson said.
