Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Assembly (NA), chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, is currently in session to discuss and approve the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

During the proceedings, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar presented the motion for the amendment, following which clause-by-clause voting began.

Opposition members staged a protest in front of the Speaker’s desk, and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) voted against the amendment.

Voting results showed that 231 members supported the 27th Constitutional Amendment, while 4 members voted against it.

Following the voting, opposition members staged a walkout from the National Assembly. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Syed Khurshid Shah attended the session in a wheelchair.
