Lahore (Web Desk): Veteran Pakistani actor Asim Bukhari passed away in Lahore on Thursday. He was 76.
According to the family sources, the senior actor had been suffering from serious heart and kidney problems for some time.
The family members said that Bukhari’s condition had worsened significantly and that he had slipped into a coma by Wednesday.
Asim Bukhari was widely recognised for his performances in both Urdu and Punjabi television and film productions. His most recent appearance was in the 2024 PTV drama serial Tootay Pattay.
Over the course of his long career, he featured in several well-known productions, including supporting roles in the popular dramas Sona Chandi (1982) and Andhera Ujala (1984). He also appeared in films such as Dubai Chalo (1979) and Badmash Gujjar (2001).
In acknowledgement of his contributions to Pakistan’s entertainment industry, he was awarded the Presidential Pride of Performance.
His family announced that the funeral prayers will be held today (March 12) after Asr prayers at Jamia Masjid Al-Rasheed located in Bahria Orchard, Lahore.
