Karachi (Web Desk): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday presented a detailed report on the performance of the provincial government, highlighting numerous developments and accomplishments across various sectors.

The event, held at the Chief Minister’s House, saw the participation of provincial ministers, advisers, special assistants, assembly members, bureaucrats, and representatives from civil society.

Speaking on the occasion, Murad Ali Shah emphasized that the actions taken by the Sindh government are fully aligned with the vision set forth by its leadership.

One of the key areas he focused on was the province's strides in digitalisation, a move that has significantly reshaped the technological landscape.

Reflecting on the progress made, he compared the present-day technological advancements with his own student years, stressing how the province has embraced a more tech-driven future.

Among the highlights, the Chief Minister pointed to the successful launch of the "Hari Card," an initiative by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari aimed at digitally registering farmers.

This move has already benefited a significant number of farmers, with the government having allocated Rs28 billion to assist them.

This financial support has made a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals in the agricultural sector.

In education, Murad Ali Shah noted that 13,428 students had graduated during this period, underscoring the government's ongoing investment in educational opportunities.

In terms of infrastructure, the Sindh government made substantial progress, launching 196 new road schemes and constructing 2,500 kilometers of roads.

He said that the provincial government undertook a major initiative to solarize 14 government buildings, leading to an impressive 80% reduction in energy consumption from these structures.

Agriculture also saw significant improvements, with the government signing an agreement with a company to ensure the quality of wheat in stock.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to maintain high standards in the province's grain supply.

The chief minister also highlighted the remarkable success of the People’s Housing Project, the largest of its kind in the region.

So far, 20 million verifications have been completed, and 4 lakh homes have been built, with plans for more. The project’s transparency was further affirmed when the World Bank’s Board of Directors visited and praised it.

Alongside the housing project, the government opened 1.1 million bank accounts, which have been integral to the initiative’s smooth operation.

The government has also made significant investments in healthcare. It has also allocated Rs 90 million annually for the welfare of disabled individuals, while Gambat Hospital achieved a notable milestone with 1,185 successful lower transplants.

The Sindh CM said that the installation of a third CyberKnife at Jinnah Hospital and the Rs 18 billion investment in the new Indus Hospital complex reflect the government’s dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure. The Trauma Centre in Karachi also played a pivotal role, conducting over 13,000 surgeries in the past year.

These accomplishments, Murad Ali Shah emphasized, represent a clear reflection of the Sindh government's commitment to progress across multiple sectors, from agriculture and education to healthcare and infrastructure.

With these initiatives, the province is well-positioned for continued development and growth.
