Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed all relevant departments to remain on high alert in view of the ongoing monsoon rains and ensure timely response to any emergency situation.
The chief minister said that no negligence or irresponsibility would be tolerated during the rainy season. She instructed authorities to ensure continuous monitoring of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) operations and effective supervision to guarantee the prompt drainage of rainwater from roads and low-lying areas.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that all concerned departments should take proactive measures and remain fully operational in the field to minimize inconvenience for the public and protect lives and property during heavy rainfall.
She also directed the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Control Room and District Emergency Operation Centres across Punjab to stay on high alert and maintain full preparedness to respond swiftly and effectively to any emergency arising from the monsoon rains.
