Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, on Sunday to discuss the evolving regional situation and efforts to maintain peace and stability.
During the call, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the latest regional developments and emphasized the importance of preventing further escalation.
Ishaq Dar urged all concerned parties to exercise maximum restraint and adhere to the path of de-escalation, in line with the commitments made under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed in June 2026.
Dar stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only effective means of resolving differences and ensuring lasting peace and stability across the region.
He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and promoting constructive engagement among regional countries.
Reiterating Pakistan's consistent policy of peaceful conflict resolution, the deputy prime minister said Islamabad stands ready to continue playing a positive and constructive role in advancing regional peace, stability, and cooperation.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination and remain in regular contact on issues of mutual interest and regional significance.
