Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President and former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif visited the Digital Communication Department (DCD) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in Islamabad, where he reviewed its ongoing work and digital outreach initiatives.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Secretary for Information Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil and senior officials of the ministry welcomed Hamza Shehbaz during his visit.
Attaullah Tarar briefed the PML-N leader about the department’s different wings, explaining their responsibilities, areas of operation and day-to-day activities.
The minister observed that digital media has transformed the way information is shared, making it an increasingly important channel for connecting with the public and ensuring the timely dissemination of information.
He said one of the key responsibilities of the Digital Communication Department is to respond to misinformation, fabricated content and hostile propaganda directed against Pakistan.
Tarar stressed that government initiatives and the country’s national narrative need to be effectively communicated through digital platforms in line with the demands of the modern information environment.
He added that the Digital Communication Department and PTV Digital are contributing significantly towards this goal.
Hamza Shehbaz showed considerable interest in the department’s ongoing activities and received an overview of the work being carried out by its various sections.
He said digital platforms provide an efficient way to keep citizens informed and allow government initiatives to reach the public in a timely manner.
The PML-N Vice President further said that effective engagement through digital media could play a significant role in presenting Pakistan’s constructive image and conveying its national narrative to audiences around the world.
Hamza Shehbaz also commended the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for its efforts to strengthen digital communication and make greater use of modern technology.
