President Zardari to undertake 10-day official visit to China from Sept 12

Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari will undertake a 10-day visit to China from September 12 (Friday) on the invitation of Chinese Government.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office (FO) issued on Thursday, during his stay, the president will travel to Chengdu, Shanghai, and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, where he is scheduled to meet senior provincial officials.

The discussions will encompass strengthening Pakistan-China relations, with particular focus on trade and economic cooperation, progress on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and future connectivity projects.

The two sides will also hold talks on expanding collaboration in various multilateral forums.

This visit highlights the continuity of high-level engagement between Islamabad and Beijing, reaffirming the two nations’ longstanding All-weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

It also underlines their mutual support on key national concerns, shared determination to boost economic ties including CPEC, and a collective commitment to advancing peace, stability, and development in the region, the spokesperson added.
