Colombo (Web Desk): The rain-hit Asia Cup Super-Four stage match between Pakistan and India resumed in Colombo, Sri Lanka today (Monday).
The match between the arch-rivals could not be completed on Sunday as umpires decided to postpone the match due to the rain that started in the afternoon.
According to the playing conditions, the game will continue from the same point today with no overs lost.
On reserve day India's innings resumed with 147 runs for 2 wickets in 24.1 overs. Virat Kohli with 8 runs and KL Rahul were at the crease for 17 runs off 28 balls.
Earlier, at one point it seemed that a 20 or 24-over match would be possible but rain once again returned.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first against India in the thrilling clash. When the match was stopped due to rain, India were 147/2 in 24.1 overs.
Looking at the point table, there is also a small chance that today's game is the last India v Pakistan clash at the 2023 Asia Cup because SriLanka is a strong contender to be a finalist and history tells us that India and Pakistan have never met at Asia Cup finals.
