Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Afghan forces on Saturday opened unprovoked firing across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, to which the Pakistan Army swiftly and effectively responded.
According to security sources, Afghan forces fired on several locations along the border, including Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and the Baram Chah area in Balochistan.
Sources revealed that the Afghan forces' objective behind this firing was to push militant groups across the border into Pakistan. However, Pakistan's vigilant military posts responded immediately, delivering a powerful counterattack.
Security sources confirmed that Pakistan's forces targeted several Afghan border posts, causing significant damage.
Multiple Afghan border posts were destroyed, and a number of Afghan soldiers and insurgents were killed. Taliban forces reportedly abandoned their positions and fled, leaving behind the bodies of the attackers scattered in the area.
This aggression by Afghanistan comes at a time when Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi is visiting India.
Pakistan condemned the statements made by Muttaqi during his visit, particularly those concerning terrorism, and criticized Afghanistan for shirking its responsibilities in maintaining regional peace.
