Educational institutions resume classes with 100% attendance

Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government has announced to reopen public and private educational institutions with 100 percent attendances from today (Monday).

Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training issued a notification which stated that the decisions to this effect had been taken at the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) meeting.

The notification reads that vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for all students of 12 years of age.

For the age group of 12 to 18 years, only Pfizer vaccine is being administered through mobile vaccination teams and all COVID vaccination Centres.

The compliance of COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including wearing of masks, hand washing, temperature checking and others will also be observed without any compromise.

On the other hand, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,258,959 on Monday after 1,004 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

As per the NCOC data, 43,389 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 2.31%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,087 with 29 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,188,562 after another 1,254 virus recoveries were reported.
