Tehran (Web Desk): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused US officials of spreading false information to manipulate global markets.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Araghchi said that such measures cannot protect the American public from the surge in inflation, which, he emphasized, has been caused by the United States itself.

Araghchi compared the current situation in global energy markets with historical events, stating that the present shortage is the most severe in history.

He highlighted that previous crises, including oil embargoes by Arab countries, the Iranian Islamic Revolution, and the invasion of Kuwait, were significantly less severe than the current disruption in supply and pricing.

The Iranian foreign minister’s remarks reflect Tehran’s criticism of Washington’s economic and geopolitical strategies, suggesting that misinformation campaigns are being used to shift market dynamics in favor of US interests.

Analysts say such statements may also be aimed at reassuring Iran’s regional partners and stakeholders amid ongoing tensions over energy security and international sanctions.
