Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday stated that 641 Afghan Taliban operatives have so far been killed and more than 855 others injured since the start of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.
Providing an update on his official X account, the minister said Pakistani security forces have so far demolished 243 check posts during the ongoing operation, while another 42 positions were first taken over and later destroyed.
He further said that a total of 219 pieces of weaponry and military hardware — including tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery guns — have been destroyed as a result of the operation.
Tarar added that air strikes conducted during the campaign successfully targeted 65 locations across Afghanistan, hitting militant facilities and strategic positions.
Earlier, the security sources said that Pakistan Army continues to carry out robust counterattacks against the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij as part of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.
According to security sources, Pakistani forces launched strikes on Afghan Taliban posts in the Zhob sector along the Pak-Afghan border.
The operation’s precision and timing forced the militants to abandon their posts, leaving weapons behind.
Among the captured arms were Russian-made 73 mm HGL-9 heavy grenade launchers retrieved from Taliban-held sites.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army successfully targeted and destroyed a Taliban post near Shawal in North Waziristan.
