Dhaka (Web Desk): Bangladesh opted to bowl first after winning the toss against Pakistan in the opening match of the three-game One-Day International (ODI) series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Pakistan entered the contest with a notably altered line-up, awarding ODI caps to four newcomers for the first time.

The changes came after the team management decided to give a break to six senior players during the tour, including leading top-order batters Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub and Babar Azam.

The series will continue at the same Dhaka venue, with the remaining fixtures scheduled for March 13 and March 15.
