Islamabad (Web Desk/Agencies): President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday was presented guard of honour at the Aiwan-e-Sadr (Presidency) a day after he was sworn in as the 14th President of Pakistan.
The president arrived at the forecourt of the presidency in the horse-driven buggy.
After the national anthem, he inspected the guard of honour presented by the smartly turned-out contingents of the armed forces.
Later, the president shook hands with the officers and staffers of the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
On Sunday, Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa administered the oath of office to President Asif Ali Zardari.
Asif Ali Zardari, as a joint candidate of the ruling coalition, defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed Sunni Ittehad Council’s (SIC) Mahmood Khan Achakzai on Saturday.
Asif Ali Zardari is the first elected president of Pakistan, who succeeded in reaching the president office for a second time.
Earlier, he served as the 11th President of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013 and was the first politician to complete a full term in office.
