Islamabad (Web Desk): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday announced to call off the plan to block the roads after Islamabad police released two lawmakers and party workers.
In an audio message shared on Twitter, the JUI-F chief said that there was "no need" to block the roads now since all parliamentarians and workers have been released.
On March 10, Islamabad police launched an operation inside the Parliament Lodges and arrested more than a dozen Ansar-ul-Islam workers, a uniformed volunteer force of the JUI including MNA Maulana Jamaluddin, Salahuddin Ayubi and spokesperson Mufti Abdullah.
Following the arrests, Maulana Fazlur Rehman had called a countrywide protest and instructed party workers to stage a demonstration.
However, in the wee hours of Friday, the police released JUI-F lawmakers and other party workers on bail bonds and personal guarantees.
