London (Web Desk): Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, leading a high-level parliamentary delegation, delivered a strong rebuke to India on Wednesday, accusing it of building its global narrative on "lies and propaganda."
Addressing a press conference at the Pakistan High Commission in London, he positioned Pakistan’s stance as being grounded in "truth and peace."
He sharply criticized New Delhi for allegedly weaponizing terrorism as a foreign policy tool, specifically accusing Indian intelligence agencies of targeting Sikh activists around the world in what he described as a systematic campaign.
Bilawal emphasized that former US President Donald Trump’s repeated offers to mediate between Pakistan and India reflected a genuine American interest in facilitating regional peace.
However, he expressed disappointment over what he described as the Indian government’s consistent sabotage of such diplomatic efforts.
Bilawal Bhtutto welcomed the US State Department’s recent acknowledgment of Trump’s willingness to mediate the Kashmir dispute during his presidency, interpreting it as international validation of Pakistan’s call for dialogue.
Reiterating Pakistan’s enduring commitment to peaceful resolution of disputes, Bilawal declared that Islamabad has always sought diplomacy over aggression.
He maintained that all outstanding issues, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir conflict, must be addressed through negotiations. According to him, lasting peace between the two nuclear-armed neighbours is not only a regional imperative but also a global necessity.
Challenging India's recurring allegations linking Pakistan to terrorism, Bilawal asserted that India has repeatedly failed to present credible evidence to support its claims.
He argued that despite Islamabad’s persistent demands for proof, India has been unable to substantiate any of its accusations.
The PPP chief said that India is fully aware that Pakistan has no ties to terrorism and that its attempts to malign Pakistan on the global stage would ultimately fail.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued pursuit of peaceful solutions to all disputes, including those related to Kashmir and water resources, through dialogue.
Calling for increased international involvement, the former foreign minister referenced President Trump’s acknowledgment that the Kashmir issue required open dialogue.
He argued that if US pressure was necessary to bring India to the negotiating table, then such intervention would be in the interest of global peace.
Bilawal also condemned what he described as India’s campaign against Sikh communities abroad and its alleged involvement in sponsoring terrorism within Pakistan.
He urged India to halt what he termed cross-border terrorism and warned that New Delhi’s threats to cut off Pakistan’s water supply constituted a violation of the United Nations Charter.
Highlighting recent national security developments, Bilawal praised Pakistan’s capacity to defend itself despite being the smaller nation in the regional power dynamic.
He cited recent confrontations with India as evidence of Pakistan’s resilience and strength.
Concluding his remarks, Bilawal noted the elevation of General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal as a recognition of his leadership and Pakistan’s military success during the recent standoff with India.
