Islamabad (Staff Report): Seven fishermen arrested by Yemeni authorities almost a decade ago, returned home to their families on Friday.
The fishermen from Karachi and Balochistan coastline went out fishing 10 years ago but lost their way and they found themselves in international waters. They were apprehended and locked in the central jail of Yemen’s capital Sana'a.
However, the nearly-hopeless men arrived in Islamabad after ages following tireless efforts of the Foreign Office and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
They were greeted at the airport by their loving families, whom they missed dearly over this 10-year period of no communication. Foreign Office and ICRC representatives accompanied the welcoming group.
