Pakistan Navy ship ‘PNS Shamsheer’ saves 41 personnel in Gulf of Aden

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Navy ship PNS Shamsheer 41 people rescued during an operation in Gulf of Aden after a boat overturned 30 nautical miles north-west in Socotra Island.

Pakistan Navy spokesman said, “PNS Shamsheer is part of a multinational task force 151, an international coalition task force of naval ships and aircraft formed under the UN mandate to counter piracy in Gulf of Aden.”

The task force headquarters received information regarding a sinking Yemeni boat carrying 60 personnel. PNS Shamsheer reciprocated to the call and carried out a search and rescue operation.

41 out of the 60 people were rescued while the search operation is underway for the remaining people.
