Tehran (Web Desk/Agencies): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said Iran has demonstrated to the international community that it possesses the strength and resilience to stand its ground even against a major global power, describing the country as “a tough and invincible power.”
According to Al Jazeera, during a televised press conference, Araghchi said he had repeatedly heard similar reactions from foreign ministers and officials representing other countries, who expressed their astonishment at Iran’s ability to withstand the pressure it faced.

“I have heard this many times from foreign ministers and officials from other countries: ‘You Iranians created a miracle; you surprised the whole world.’”
Araghchi said Iran’s resistance had defied expectations, with many people initially believing that the country would not be able to withstand the United States.
“No one thought that Iran could resist America like this,” Araghchi said, noting that Washington had the backing of Israel, the Western world and several other countries.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also stated that the US shifted from demanding Iran’s surrender to seeking negotiations within just 20 days of the conflict.
Al Jazeera reported that Araghchi made the comments during the same televised press conference carried by Iranian state television.
Recalling the opening phase of the war, the Iranian foreign minister said US President Donald Trump had initially called on Tehran to give in without any conditions.
“The US President wrote two words [on social media] at the beginning of the war: ‘Unconditional surrender’,” he said.
FM Araghchi said that surrender was what Washington had initially sought from Tehran, but maintained that the situation soon changed and the same US administration began seeking talks with Iran.
“That was what they wanted from us and, 20 days later, the same enemy was begging for negotiations,” the Iranian top diplomat added.
