Washington (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has announced that operation will be launched to clear the Strait of Hormuz of naval mines in the interest of the world.
According to international news agencies, Trump stated that Iran is currently facing severe pressure in the ongoing conflict and is suffering significant losses.
He claimed that Iran’s naval and air power has weakened, and its defense system has become ineffective.
He further said that Iran’s radar systems, missile capabilities, and drone manufacturing industry have been heavily damaged, and its leadership is no longer effectively functional.
The US president said that Iran is now left only with the threat of laying sea mines.
Trump claimed that 28 Iranian vessels used for laying mines have been destroyed, and operations to clear the Strait of Hormuz are being initiated.
He said the move is being carried out for countries including China, Japan, South Korea, France, and Germany, adding that other nations lack the capability to undertake such operations themselves.
The US President also stated that oil tankers from various countries are heading toward the United States, and that the US has the capacity to meet global energy demands.
He added that American oil and gas are of the highest quality and that the U.S. holds larger oil reserves than several major countries combined.
He also assured that oil tankers would be loaded quickly and return efficiently.
Trump further said it would soon become clear whether the Iranian delegation is negotiating in good faith, and noted that alternative routes to the Strait of Hormuz are now being recognized globally.
