Islamabad (Web Desk): After the reduction in petroleum product prices, the Rawalpindi Regional Transport Authority has announced a significant cut in transport fares, providing major relief to the public.
According to the Regional Transport Authority, Secretary Syed Asad Abbas chaired an important meeting with transporters, during which a consensus was reached to reduce public transport fares.
The official statement said that fares for diesel-powered vehicles have been reduced by 15 percent, while fares for petrol-powered vehicles have been cut by 5 percent. In addition, goods transport fares have been reduced by up to 26 percent.
The Transport Secretary stated that the reduction in fares will directly benefit citizens and is also expected to help ease inflation.
