Re-polling underway in Shangla's PK-23

Peshawar (Staff Report): Re-polling is underway on a vacant seat of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly PK-23, Shangla.

The results of the constituency were declared invalid due to low female voter turnout in the constituency during General Election 2018.

According to the provincial election commission, polling began at 8am and will continue till 6pm without any break.

Thirteen candidates are in the run for the seat, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Shaukat Yousafzai, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal’s (MMA) Muhammad Yaar, Awami National Party’s (ANP) Umer Zada and Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Afsar-ul-Mulk.

One hundred and thirty-five polling stations have been established across the constituency.
