Army chief meets CJP, gives over Rs1b cheque for dams’ fund

Islamabad (Staff Report): Pakistan Army donated on Monday over Rs1 billion for the construction of dams in the country.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa handed over a cheque of over Rs1 billion (1005.919 million) for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on behalf of the Pakistan Army and its welfare organisations.

“COAS met CJP at Supreme Court of Pakistan. COAS handed over cheque of Rs. One billion (1005.919 M) as donation by Pakistan Army Personnel and its welfare organisations for Dam Fund. “Pak Army shall continue to contribute towards nation building as a national institution”, COAS,” ISPR Director General reported.

“Pak Army shall continue to contribute towards nation building as a national institution,” the ISPR quoted the army chief as saying.
