Air pollution in Lahore reaches dangerous levels, smog intensity increases

Lahore (Web Desk): Air pollution levels in the provincial capital Lahore have reached alarming heights. In a global ranking, Lahore has climbed to the second most polluted city. The city recorded an average smog level of 183 AQI, which is considered extremely harmful to human health.

Health experts warn that the increase in pollution may lead to a rise in respiratory, eye, and throat diseases among residents. Citizens have been advised to wear masks, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, and take special care of children and the elderly.

According to the Meteorological Department, Lahore’s minimum temperature today is expected to be 19 degrees Celsius, while the maximum may reach 29 degrees Celsius. The current temperature is recorded at 22 degrees Celsius.

The wind speed is 3 kilometers per hour, and the humidity level is 77 percent, making the weather relatively humid today. The Environmental Department has urged citizens to take precautionary measures in light of the changing weather conditions to protect themselves from health issues.
