Maryam Nawaz inaugurates 'Clinics on Wheels Project' in Lahore

Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz inaugurated 'Clinics on Wheels Project' in Lahore on Friday.

Under the project, 200 clinics on wheels will provide health facility to four million people of the province.

Addressing the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz said that these clinics will be deployed in densely populated areas of big cities where residents often face challenges in accessing hospital care.

She further said that provincial government is taking health facilities to the doorsteps of the people.

The Punjab CM also announced to provide state of the art cardiology facilities in eight cities of Punjab including Mianwali, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Jhelum, Sahiwal, Murree and Layyah, the Radio Pakistan reported.

Separately, Maryam Nawaz has given assent to the revival of the laptop scheme to the students in the province.

The decision in this regard was made during a meeting held in Lahore on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab CM emphasised the imperative need to enhance educational infrastructure, particularly in underprivileged regions.

“It is top priority of the government to establish international standard universities in every district, alongside colleges at the tehsil level,” the Punjab CM.

She said that 20 thousand motorbikes are also being given to students across the province.

While welcoming Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's declaration of "Educational Emergency", Maryam Nawaz underscored the urgent need for comprehensive reforms in both school and higher education sectors.
