Islamabad (Web Desk): As the holy month of Ramadan enters its last Ashra, millions of Muslims across Pakistan observe Itikaaf, a period of spiritual seclusion, beginning after the Asr prayer on Sunday.
During the last ten nights of Ramadan, believers dedicate themselves to private worship and reflection, seeking the mercy and blessings of Allah Almighty, in accordance with the guidance of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Men taking part in Aitikaf, known as Motakifs, will remain within mosques from the 21st of Ramadan onward, while women will seclude themselves at home, devoting their time exclusively to prayer and devotion.
While in Aitkaf, the Motakifs will observe their 20th fast of the month, maintaining the rhythm of daily worship alongside their spiritual seclusion.
Across Pakistan, mosques have prepared designated areas to host male participants, ensuring they can observe the retreat comfortably.
The period of Aitkaf concludes upon the sighting of the Shawwal moon, signaling the end of Ramadan and paving the way for the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr.
