Rain-wind/thunderstorm in upper parts, snow expected over hills: PMD

Islamabad (Web Desk): A mix of rain, wind, and thunderstorms with snow over mountainous areas is expected in isolated spots across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Punjab, and Islamabad over the next twelve hours.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), isolated moderate to heavy falls is likely in Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the period.

Dry and partly cloudy weather is likely elsewhere in the country.

This morning’s recorded temperatures are as follows: Islamabad and Lahore both saw temperatures around 17°C, while Karachi was warmer at 22°C. In the north, Peshawar recorded 19°C, Quetta 13°C, and the higher elevations of Gilgit and Muzaffarabad had a cooler 11°C. Murree was the coldest among the cities, at just 6°C.

Meanwhile, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), cloudy weather with light rain and thunderstorms, along with snow on higher hills, is expected in Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula.

Jammu will experience partly cloudy conditions with a chance of light rain and thunderstorms. Leh, on the other hand, will see cloudy skies and snow.

The temperature readings in the region this morning were: Srinagar, Pulwama, and Baramula all at 5°C, Jammu at 18°C, Leh at a chilly -7°C, and Anantnag and Shopian at 6°C.
