London (Web Desk): Pakistani actor Mahira Khan attended a gala dinner in London on Tuesday organised by the British Asian Trust, where she also met the organisation’s founder and patron, King Charles III.

Khan was present in her role as the trust’s ambassador for Pakistan and joined a high-profile gathering that brought together leading personalities from the entertainment industry, business circles, and the wider British-Asian community.

Sharing details of her meeting with King Charles, Khan said he appeared cordial and genuinely engaged, especially in discussions related to the charity’s efforts on mental health awareness and support in Pakistan.

Mahirs Khan highlighted that mental health issues are still widely surrounded by stigma, with many people feeling ashamed to talk about them, and stressed that such conditions should be understood as medical illnesses just like physical health problems.

She added that the King was already aware of her work with the organisation and appreciated her contributions, noting that their efforts had made a meaningful impact and encouraging further progress in the same direction.

Khan also used the occasion to speak about women’s rights and violence against women in Pakistan.

Referring to the recent acid attack on Dr Mahnoor Nasir, she expressed deep anger over the incident and questioned why more men were not speaking out against such brutality, saying women are outraged and urging men to take a stronger stand against violence.
