Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces killed 11 terrorists belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the military's media wing said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by the security forces in North Waziristan District.
“During the operation, the troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, six khwarij were killed,” the statement said.
The ISPR said that another joint IBO by police and security forces was conducted in Kurram District. In ensuing fire exchange, five khwarij were effectively neutralised.
It added that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the Indian sponsored khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces, law enforcement agencies and target killing of innocent civilians.
The military’s media wing said that sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored kharji in the area.
“A relentless counter terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country," the ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have applauded the security forces for their successful actions against Fitna al-Khawarij in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reiterating in separate statements that Pakistan remains firmly committed to defeating terrorism.
President Zardari said the services rendered by the security forces and law enforcement agencies in safeguarding the lives and property of citizens were highly praiseworthy.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the armed forces and police are continuously engaged, day and night, in confronting elements working against the state.
He said that with such brave and determined officers and soldiers standing watch, no hostile force could dare to cast a threatening eye on Pakistan.
The prime minister further noted that the entire nation stands united with its security forces in their steadfast mission to protect the country.
