Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the formation of a committee to closely monitor and assess the progress of federal development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

He shared this during a meeting in Islamabad with Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and other representatives from the province.

The committee, to be led by Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal, has been tasked with visiting Peshawar to conduct a thorough review of ongoing federal initiatives in the region.

The prime minister emphasized that the federal government is fully aware of the challenges faced by the people of KP and is committed to taking meaningful action within its jurisdiction.

He highlighted that ensuring the timely completion of development projects and addressing public concerns remain among the top priorities of his administration.

PM Shehbaz also urged the representatives to actively work toward resolving the problems of the people in their constituencies and to treat public issues with urgency.

He recalled his recent visit to Haripur, where laptops were distributed to students from across the province, and said that this initiative will continue on a merit-based system to help equip students with modern skills.

During the meeting, participants engaged in a detailed discussion on the province’s political climate and the difficulties confronting its residents. Issues related to governance, public welfare, and the implementation of development projects were also deliberated.

The visiting representatives expressed strong criticism of the provincial government, saying it has failed to provide effective leadership.

They argued that the KP administration lacks clear policies on education, health, infrastructure, and overall public welfare, showing little concern for the needs of the citizens.

Those attending the meeting included MNAs Babar Nawaz and Samar Bilour, former parliamentarians Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Zahid Khan, Pir Sabir Shah, Captain (retd) Safdar, along with MPAs Dr. Ibadullah, Ikhtiar Wali, Sardar Mushtaq, Shahji Gul Afridi, Shahabuddin Khan, Rehmat Salam Khattak, and Bahramand Tangi.
