Turkish police frees six abducted Pakistanis after legal formalities

Istanbul (Staff Report): At least six Pakistani nationals who were rescued by Turkish police have been released after legal formalities.

Two immigrants have been handed over to Pakistani embassy in Istanbul while other 4 will contact the authorities today.

Nafees Zakariya, Spokesman to Foreign Office said that Turkish officials are now completing the legal formalities to deal with the case. The Diplomats are in contact with the police authorities and have sought access to the rescued Pakistanis.

Meanwhile, the footage, obtained by a private television channel showed four Pakistanis being subjected to brutal torture, unearthed kidnapping of four Pakistanis.

The kidnappers demanded Rs8 million for the release of the people or else they would be killed. They also directed the bereaved families to pay the money in Peshawar.

The victims included Sara-i-Alamgir’s Abdul Qudoos, Imran, Shani and one resident of Mandi Bahauddin.
