Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the government is continuing to pursue structural economic reforms, expand exports and improve the country’s institutional systems to support sustainable growth.
According to the ministry of finance, he made these remarks during a meeting with US Chargé d’Affaires to Pakistan Natalie Baker in Islamabad, where the two officials reviewed the current state of Pakistan-US economic ties and discussed prospects for broadening cooperation between the two countries.

Aurangzeb briefed the US diplomat about his recent trip to Washington, where he held meetings with senior representatives of leading US economic institutions.
He said his discussions focused on identifying new avenues for financial collaboration, encouraging investment and securing financing for commercially sustainable projects in Pakistan.
The finance minister also provided an update on Pakistan’s engagement with the US Trade Representative over the proposed reciprocal trade framework between the two countries.
He stressed the need to expand access to international markets, create additional opportunities for Pakistani exporters and further increase bilateral trade.
Aurangzeb said the government was working to make the business climate more investor-friendly while taking steps to attract private-sector capital, reinforce the country’s foreign exchange position and shift the economy towards stronger export performance.
The discussions also covered potential areas for investment, particularly in ports and logistics, the energy sector, telecommunications, digital technology and artificial intelligence.
Natalie Baker appreciated Pakistan's efforts to maintain economic stability amid regional challenges and rising energy prices and reaffirmed US support for Pakistan's economic reform agenda and greater participation of US companies in key sectors.
