Pakistan and Kazakhstan on Tuesday reiterated their determination to strengthen their strategic partnership, stressing the vast potential for cooperation and the importance of expanding ties in multiple fields.
During the inaugural session of delegation-level talks, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, along with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, reaffirmed their commitment to building on their longstanding relations in trade, economy, and other vital sectors.
In his remarks, Ishaq Dar pointed to the broad opportunities available for enhancing engagement between the two countries. He said Pakistan had always stood for peace, stability, development, and prosperity, particularly in its relations with Central Asian nations.
Expressing Pakistan’s eagerness for a deeper partnership with Kazakhstan, he remarked that mutual respect, goodwill, and trust would be the guiding principles in pursuing shared objectives of peace and progress.
Dar also noted that Pakistan and Kazakhstan hold converging positions on most regional and international issues.
The deputy prime minister highlighted the significance of the upcoming visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in November, adding that finalizing the program for this visit was among the central items of the talks.
Responding to him, Murat Nurtleu conveyed Kazakhstan’s readiness to broaden cooperation and strengthen ties, describing the friendship between the two nations as longstanding, dependable, and full of promise for the future.
Sharing insights from his earlier meetings in Islamabad with government officials and business leaders, the Kazakh deputy prime minister said both sides had exchanged views on key issues of mutual concern to advance collaboration.
He expressed the hope that President Tokayev’s visit would prove to be a turning point, bringing new momentum and opening fresh avenues for bilateral relations.
During the talks, both sides reviewed the entire spectrum of cooperation, with particular focus on trade and investment, agriculture, information technology, education, culture, tourism, security, and logistics connectivity.
According to the Foreign Office (FO), a roadmap for the Kazakh president’s visit to Pakistan in November 2025 was also finalized.
Following the discussions, the two deputy prime ministers and foreign ministers signed an Action Plan of Cooperation between their respective foreign ministries.
Earlier in the day, Ishaq Dar received Murat Nurtleu and held a one-on-one meeting. The two leaders reaffirmed their resolve to further enhance political and economic ties, improve regional connectivity, and maintain close coordination ahead of the presidential visit.
