Islamabad (Web Desk): The Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rainfall in the upper parts of the country from the evening of May 10 to May 12.
According to the Met Office, a new western weather system will enter the northern regions on May 10, bringing the possibility of thunderstorms and rain in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accompanied by strong winds.
Rain with gusty winds is also expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, and Chakwal, while Lahore, Sialkot, and Gujranwala may also receive showers with thunder.
The department further stated that rain is likely in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir from May 11 to 13. The rainfall and strong winds are expected to reduce the intensity of heat across affected regions.
On the other hand, hot and dry weather conditions are predicted to persist in southern Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan.
The Met Office has also warned of a risk of landslides in the mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, advising tourists to avoid unnecessary travel during the rainy spell.
