Islamabad (Web Desk): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday said that Pakistan’s armed forces forces are carrying out strikes against militant hideouts located within Afghanistan based on precise and verified intelligence.
In a statement reported by international media organizations, he clarified that Pakistan has not struck civilian-populated locations across the border, stressing that the operations are directed exclusively at terrorist facilities and the networks that enable their activities.
Tarar rejected the casualty numbers released by the Afghan Taliban authorities, calling them fabricated figures that do not deserve serious attention.
He dismissed statements issued by the spokesperson of the Afghan Ministry of Defense claiming success against Pakistan on the battlefield, saying such claims are false and amount to nothing more than propaganda.
The minister also refuted reports circulated by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan regarding civilian deaths in Afghanistan.
He said the information released by the UN mission in Kabul is entirely dependent on data supplied by the Taliban administration.
Tarar added that the ongoing attacks show that the Afghan Taliban and terrorist group Fitna al-Khawarij are acting together, which, he said, confirms the nexus between the Taliban authorities and several militant organizations operating from Afghan territory.
He further stated that every assault launched by the Afghan Taliban has been met with an immediate and effective response by Pakistan.
The information minister said that Pakistan’s operations have accurately struck terrorist groups and those assisting them, including military installations linked to the Afghan Taliban.
