Lahore (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday reiterated the government's full support for empowering the youth with modern skills.
He said this while chairing a review meeting in Lahore today regarding the provision of ICT training to 300,000 youth in Pakistan in collaboration with Huawei Technologies.
The meeting was attended by a delegation from Huawei Technologies, and a variety of strategies were discussed to equip young individuals with digital skills and offer world-class training in the IT field.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of agreements made last year with Huawei Technologies in China.
PM Shehbaz stressed the important role that the youth play in the development of technology and the digital revolution.
He pointed out that Huawei’s ICT training program would not only help in boosting IT exports but also open up new job opportunities for the younger generation.
Huawei Technologies representatives confirmed their commitment to launching advanced training programs in Pakistan as part of this initiative.
The training will cover areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and other cutting-edge technologies.
The initiative will be rolled out with the aim of providing online training to 300,000 Pakistani youth, with the ICT training portal to be launched officially by the Prime Minister himself.
It was noted that Huawei Technologies had already trained 20,315 students under the program, which aims to enhance the skills of students, trainers, and professionals in ICT fields. Master trainers, who have been trained by Huawei Technologies, will provide local-level training to the youth across the country.
PM Shehbaz called for the rapid implementation of the ICT training projects and emphasized that the training portal should be made as accessible as possible to the public.
He also directed that the initiative be expanded to include all provinces, as well as Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, ensuring that the benefits of the programme reach every part of the country.
