Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday lauded the unwavering support of overseas Pakistanis after remittances reached a higher level in the fiscal year 2025-26 compared to the previous year.
In a statement, the prime minister extended his appreciation to Pakistanis living abroad for sending a total of $41.6 billion in remittances during FY2025-26, describing their contribution as a significant source of strength for the country's economy.
He noted that the 8.6 percent increase in remittance inflows over the previous fiscal year was a clear indication of the confidence overseas Pakistanis have placed in the government's economic policies and direction.
Referring to the Pakistani diaspora as one of the nation's most valuable assets, PM Shehbaz said the entire country takes pride in their dedication and continued commitment.
PM Shehbaz reaffirmed that the government remains committed to safeguarding their interests and will continue to prioritise measures aimed at improving their welfare.
