Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction in electricity tariffs across the country under the monthly adjustment mechanism. Karachi consumers will benefit from a decrease of Rs. 4.03 per unit, while consumers in other parts of Pakistan will see a reduction of 50 paisa per unit.

Separate notifications issued by NEPRA state that the relief will be reflected in the electricity bills for the month of July.

For K-Electric consumers, the reduction applies to the monthly adjustment for April 2025, whereas for the rest of the country, the decrease is in the May 2025 adjustment.

NEPRA noted that K-Electric had initially requested a reduction of Rs. 4.69 per unit for April's adjustment, while the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had recommended a 10 paisa per unit increase for May's adjustment.
