Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IGP, chief secretary removed from posts

Islamabad (Staff Report): The government on Saturday removed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Salahuddin Mehsud and Chief Secretary Naveed Kamran Baloch.

According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Grade 21 officer Muhammad Saleem has been appointed as the new chief secretary while Naveed Kamran Baloch has been directed to report to the Establishment Divsion.

Meanwhile, Grade 22 officer Muhammad Naeem Khan, who was serving as IG Azad Kashmir, has replaced Mehsud as IG KP whereas Salahuddin Mehsud has now been appointed as IG Azad Kashmir, the notification added.

According to sources, the government wants to introduce a parallel system between police and the Levies force and the former KP IG and chief secretary had opposed the system.

Moreover, Mathar Niaz Rana has been appointed new chief secretary of Azad Kashmir. Earlier, Rana has been serving as the additional secretary of industries and production.
