Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday inaugurated Pakistan’s first National Science and Technology Park (NSTP) at National University of Science and Technology Islamabad.

Addressing a ceremony after inaugurating the Science and Technology Park, PM Khan said the government will give special emphasis to the science and technology, education and future technologies to unleash the potential of the youth. He said equipping the youth with the latest technologies will help create immense opportunities for them.

He assured to provide every possible support to the university to take forward this project. He said this model will also be replicated in other institutions as well.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa for always giving special emphasis to the education.

He urged the students to follow the life and teachings of holy Prophet (SAW) to become future leaders.

The PM lauded Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry for showing "passion for a ministry that no one cared about" in the past.

The NSTP, according to Radio Pakistan, is Pakistan's biggest "innovation and research ecosystem" and its launch comes days after the inauguration of Digital Pakistan Vision.

The technology park would provide a platform for more than 40 companies, which would include start-ups as well as small-medium enterprises. It will also house established digital companies, Radio Pakistan reported.
