Lahore (Web Desk): Lahore: Pakistan’s largest entrepreneurial expo, SEE Pakistan, was held in Lahore with great success, attracting thousands of young participants and startups from across the country. The event marked a significant step toward empowering youth and promoting innovation-driven economic growth.
Addressing the ceremony, Rector of Superior University, Professor Dr. Sumaira Rehman, welcomed the initiative and expressed her joy at the platform's growing impact. She stated, “Today is a day of pride for us. The core purpose of SEE Pakistan is to promote entrepreneurship among the youth and to strengthen their role in the country's economic development. Over time, this program has evolved into a major platform that shifts the mindset from job-seeking to job creation.”
Dr. Sumaira Rehman highlighted the journey of SEE Pakistan as a long-standing mission. “This began as a dream and a mission nine years ago, and today its success brings us immense happiness. At Superior University, we are committed to not becoming a factory of unemployment, but instead to making every effort to empower our youth and make them self-reliant,” she said.
This year, the SEE Pakistan journey began in April with the World Startup Championship, in which students from 118 universities registered to participate. Additionally, over 200 international startups also took part. In total, 2,815 startups registered for the program, showcasing the scale and enthusiasm surrounding the initiative.
At the grand ceremony, the top 100 startups were exhibited, with over 40 percent of the participants being women — a significant highlight reflecting the inclusivity and diversity of the platform. Dr. Sumaira Rehman announced that the startup securing first position would receive a cash prize of PKR 500,000, while the runner-up would be awarded PKR 200,000.
She also expressed her gratitude to the Chairman of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP), Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, for playing a pivotal role in making this opportunity possible.
Organized under the banner of the Pakistan Association of Private Sector Universities (APSUP), the expo aimed to build meaningful connections between young entrepreneurs, startups, academic institutions, and industries.
