California (Web Desk): WhatsApp has rolled out one of its biggest features for 2026. The username feature is now available for limited users on the beta version for both Android and iOS devices, offering enhanced privacy and security.
With this new feature, users no longer need to share their phone numbers to connect with new contacts. Instead, they can use their unique username.
WhatsApp will also provide a 4-digit key for each username to strengthen security.
To set up a username, users can go to Settings, click on their profile photo, and select the username option at the bottom. Users can even link their Facebook or Instagram usernames for WhatsApp.
According to reports, WhatsApp plans to expand this feature to a wider audience soon, making private messaging safer and more convenient for all users.
