Karachi (Web Desk): In the 17th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by a massive margin of 159 runs, recording the biggest victory in the tournament’s history.
Played in Karachi, Karachi Kings won the toss and chose to field first, inviting Peshawar Zalmi to bat.
Peshawar Zalmi posted a huge total thanks to outstanding innings from captain Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis. The pair built a remarkable 191-run partnership for the second wicket, one of the biggest stands in PSL history.
Kusal Mendis scored a brilliant 109 runs, while Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 87 off 51 balls.
Later, Abdul Samad added quick runs, smashing 40 off just 12 balls, including three fours and four sixes. For Karachi Kings, Abbas Afridi picked up two wickets.
Chasing a target of 247 runs, Karachi Kings collapsed and were bowled out for just 87 runs. Azam Khan was the top scorer with 25 runs.
For Peshawar Zalmi, Nahid Rana, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Sufiyan Muqeem took three wickets each.
With this emphatic win, Peshawar Zalmi secured the largest margin of victory in the history of the Pakistan Super League.
