Lahore (Web Desk): Saudi Arabia has once again extended its support to Pakistan by sending humanitarian relief for flood-affected families in seven districts of Punjab. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) arranged a convoy of five trucks loaded with essential supplies for the affected communities.
During a ceremony held in Lahore, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malki handed over the aid consignment to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The event was also attended by KSrelief Country Director Abdullah Al-Baqami along with senior PDMA officials.
The assistance includes 10,000 shelter kits and an equal number of food parcels. Each shelter kit contains tents, solar panels, LED lights, thermal blankets, plastic mats, kitchen utensils, water coolers, and antibacterial soap, while every food package weighs 95 kilograms and consists of flour, sugar, gram lentils, and cooking oil.
These relief goods will be distributed among residents of Kasur, Jhang, Khanewal, Hafizabad, Chiniot, Multan, and Toba Tek Singh, with the process jointly managed by PDMA, KSrelief, and the Hayat Foundation.
On this occasion, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz expressed appreciation for the Saudi leadership, calling the aid a true reflection of brotherhood. She said the vision of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman continues to serve as an inspiration for the Muslim Ummah.
The Punjab CM noted that relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are based not only on strategy but also on strong religious and fraternal ties that deepen in testing times.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Al-Malki reiterated that Saudi Arabia has always stood with Pakistan in times of difficulty and will keep extending humanitarian assistance in the future.
